Museums can't afford to open in the evening, says V & A: they need corporate event cash
Due to diminishing public subsidy, museums are having to reconsider staying open later in the evenings in favour of hosting corporate events to bring in money. V & A Director, Tristram Hunt, told The Times, “We would like to see it open as much as possible. But we have to balance diminishing grant-in-aid [from the government] with commercial fundraising.”
